John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

Funny, but I removed our Facebook website page yesterday and also deleted my own personal page.

What is amusing about this satire piece is that the man took out a bill board advertisement. Earlier this week I was trying to run a small ad campaign. Facebook refused to run the advertisement. They stated that the ad was highly political and could involve national security. I asked them to review the ad and run it. They once again refused and wanted copies of my drivers license and to prove my physical residency. They stated that I must prove that I am a U.S. citizen residing in the U.S.

Imagine that, especially considering the context of the ad I was trying to run which was a satire piece alluding to the caravan approaching the U.S. and Mexican border.

Christforums will no longer use the FB platform.
