John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

Hair length means fertility? What?!

I came across the most bizzare thing I've ever heard. In 1Corinthians 11 some have the idea that Paul is talking about fertility, supposedly becuse in Greek medicine hair length would effect fertility.

No doubt this is one of many other attacks on God's word, and it's totally off the wall.

But has any one ever heard of this before and know more about refuting such craziness?

I chalk it up to be nothing more than a pathetic attempt to invalidate The Bible.

It's all in the hair. Let's call this the "Samson Argument".
