John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

Thank you for your suggestions. The Christian Science forum has been renamed to "Creation Ex Nihilo". A new forum description has also been included:

"Creationism is the Christian belief that the universe and life originated "from specific acts of divine creation". Discuss the various Creation views such as YEC and OEC as well as how they contrast Darwinian Evolution etc."

God bless,

William

The "Bible Prophecy" category has also been renamed to "Christian Eschatology".

The description of the category now reads:

"The study of "end times", known as eschatology (from the Greek eskhatos meaning last things), is a subject that includes such topics as death and the afterlife, the Second Coming of Christ, the Millennial Kingdom, the end of the world, resurrection of the dead, Heaven and Hell, and new creation."

This change was made in an attempt to not appeal to so many lunatics which are evidenced by their posts after registration.

God bless,

William
