John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

    • If people willingly deny Jesus, could they ever be saved?

      I have a few friends who are atheists, and are indifferent to the Gospel. They know it, they were once theists in some cases, but they reject the idea of Christianity, as a whole concept. They sometimes play with the idea that ''a god'' exists, but not a personal God, and Jesus is ''just another prophet,'' in their eyes. If they live relatively decent lives, being kind to others, etc...can they be saved? Or asking it another way, will all people who willingly reject Jesus, spend eternity in hell

      CEDAR BLUFFS, AZ—According to multiple sources at Sovereign Redeemer Church this past Sunday, a man who didn't raise his hands a single time during the regular time of worship obviously doesn't love Jesus at all. [Deuteronomy 18:15, 18] And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people. [Luke 7:16]

    • Worship Jesus <-- 1954 --> Don't worship Jesus

      The Jehovah's Witnesses used to teach that it was proper to worship[*1] the Lord Jesus[*2]. However, beginning in 1954 they no longer teach it is proper to worship Him. Despite their denial of this biblical truth there are several times from their own writings they still affirm it.   A. The Lord Jesus is to be worshiped. • Who is Jesus?

      Jesus is considered to be a Messenger of God and he was sent to guide the Children of Israel. [Mathew 10:5-6 and Mathew 15:24] - I was sent ONLY to help God's lost sheep -- the people of Israel with a new scripture, the Injil or Gospel.
