John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

The Rod Of Signs and Wonders

Recommended Posts

Pst Propser

Exod 4: 17 And thou shalt take this rod in thine hand, wherewith thou shalt do signs.

According to that statement, God recommended the Rod as a very potent tool to do signs and wonders.

What then is the rod?

In Isaiah 11:1- 2 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:

 And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;

The bible made us to know that the rod will come from the stem of Jesse. This made us to know that Jesus is the rod in a person.

We are aware of the fact that Jesus is the word of God according to John 1:1-3

It now becomes easy for us to conclude that the Rod is Jesus. The rod is Jesus and Jesus is the word of God.

We can now comfortably conclude that the Rod for signs and wonders is the word of God.

No wonder why the scripture says in Psalm 107:20 That He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

It therefore follows that without the word of God, signs and wonders becomes impossible.

The depth of the word of God you possess is that factor that will determine your exploits in the world of the supernatural.

When you lack the word, signs and wonders will become alien to your life.

I want to encourage you therefore to do all it takes to make yourself a man of the word of God

There are many believers who claimed that they are men of the spirits but not men of the word.

There is no way you can follow the Holy Spirit successfully without the word of God.

The bible described the word as a lamp and a light Psalm 119:105. If you step out of the word, you will step into darkness. This is the reason why many who started the race of the Christianity very well are now into error. Let the word of God therefore be first to you and the spirit second. This is the only way you can stay safe forever.

Smith Wigglesworth was said to be first of all a man of the word an then of the spirit. No wonder why he lived a very successful Christian life and was never in drought of signs and wonders.

If you must see signs therefore on a consistent basis in your life and ministry, please step up the level of the word of God in you and things will fall in place supernaturally.

God bless you

I am Pst Kunle Prosper.

You are trying to establish a link between two verses and basing your interpretation upon an English text.  It won't work.  What you can't see in the KJV is the word for "rod" in those verses is not the same Hebrew word.

In Ex 4:17 the Hebrew word is מַטֶּה and refers to a staff.

In Isa. 11:1 the Hebrew word is חֹ֫טֶר and refers to a "shoot\branch."

Signs and wonders are supposed to be alien to us, or they wouldn't serve the purpose of being sings and wonders.

Smith Wigglesworth thought he could phically attack demons inside people, when that didn't work he blamed the sick person for lack of faith. But nothing tops him throwing an infant against a wall and drop kicking it, sadly the people who follow his teachings have no idea he did those things.

Let's see if Mr. Wiggles his a man of the Word.

Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against the powers, against the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spiritual host of wickedness in high places.

Glory to God for those who don't capitalise the word pastor or use it as a title, knowing it is a function.
