John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

    • Be Patient, Young Pastor. Your Best Writing Is Later.

I’m 38, a pastor, and I love to write. I have a wife and three young kids, a congregation full of people I love, friends and family members to whom I want to give time and attention. But I’m not disc

By Molly Prince - Defeated Georgia Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams acknowledged on Wednesday that she lost her 2018 gubernatorial race, but contended that she would not concede because a concession implies the race was “proper.” “We had this little election back in 2018 and despite the finally tally and the inauguration and the situation we find ourselves in, I do have one very affirmative statement to make: we won,” Abrams told a crowd during Rev. Al Sharpton’s National A
