John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

    • Bible chapters and verses that I would change

I am not referring to the words of the Bible, but how these words were arranged in chapters and verses. I think many are okay, but there are several places I would change.  For example:    Colossians 4:1  I would prefer to have Colossians chapter 3 continue beyond verse 25. v. 18 "fitting in the Lord" v. 20 "well-pleasing to the Lord" v.  22 "fearing the Lord" v. 23 "work heartily, as for the Lord" v. 24 "it is the Lord Christ, whom you serve"

By Tim Pearce - Pilots flying in the U.S. have filed at least five complaints on planes of the same model that crashed in Ethiopia on Sunday, killing all 157 people on board. Federal records contain at least five official complaints about problems with Boeing 737 MAX 8 model planes popping up in critical moments of flight, such as takeoff when pilots have little room for error so close to the ground, Politico reports. Several of the complaints involved issues with the plane’s anti-stall sy

    • Changing Laws does not Change Hearts

The new social justice movement among professing Christians has very little (if any) understanding of human nature and the degree of our corruption. Consider, if they had free reign to enact every law and educational reform they wanted, do they honestly think it would solve the worlds problems? It would not even scratch the surface. Our problem is much, much deeper than that. The problem with humanity is pre-political. It is a spiritual problem. This denial of total depravity reveals a complete

    • House Democrats Held The First Climate Change Hearings In Six Years. It Was A Mess

By Michael Bastasch - House Democrats held the first hearings on global warming the chamber has seen in six years. The hearings, though, weren’t the serious policy debates Democrats may have hoped for. Rather, the hearings relied on testimonies from climate activists and even religious leaders. Top House Democrats finally got their wish to hold the first hearings on global warming in six years Wednesday, but both committee hearings meandered into discussions of civil rights, race and a
