John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

He must mean that branch of Reformed Theology where people are only a "little sinful" and are capable of exercising their "free will" to choose, completely in their own power, to "believe or not believe" that God loves "the whole world - every single individual person" ...  I think they call it "Radical Arminianism".

Kum-ba-ya, Lord.  Kum-ba-ya. ... (sing along) ... 😍

    • If people willingly deny Jesus, could they ever be saved?

I have a few friends who are atheists, and are indifferent to the Gospel. They know it, they were once theists in some cases, but they reject the idea of Christianity, as a whole concept. They sometimes play with the idea that ''a god'' exists, but not a personal God, and Jesus is ''just another prophet,'' in their eyes. If they live relatively decent lives, being kind to others, etc...can they be saved? Or asking it another way, will all people who willingly reject Jesus, spend eternity in hell

    • Jesus refers to the Father as "my God" (John 20:17; Revelation 3:12)

John 20:17 Jesus said to her, “Stop clinging to Me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, ‘I ascend to My Father and your Father, and My God and your God.’” (NASB)  Some who deny the Lord Jesus is God will cite John 20:17[*1] and affirm that the Lord Jesus can not be God because He referred to the Father as "My God." However, Thomas also referred to the Lord Jesus as "my God" in John 20:28 which demonstrates that the Lord Jesus is God.

    • White Throne Judgment

For the believer in Jesus or not?   And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.  (Rev 20:11) And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.  (Rev 20:12) And the sea gave up the dead which
